Swimmer & Crew Bios

Kim Valenta, founder of Swim for the Wild, has worked and volunteered for Toronto Wildlife Centre for over six years, and has completed many long-distance swims. She is very excited about the challenge of swimming across Algonquin and raising support for such an important organization.

Nora Livingstone is Toronto Wildlife Centre's Volunteer Coordinator. As an avid outdoor adventurer Nora has logged thousands of hours in hiking boots, canoes and kayaks. She is up for the challenge! Nora spent the greater part of last year traveling in Nepal and Asia and is excited for another adventure. She hates black flies but is willing to put up with them if it means raising funds for wildlife. She is thankful for the support from her family and friends.

Paul Cragg is ready to boat support the swimmers! As an experienced paddler who has logged hundreds of kilometers in every corner of Algonquin Park, and a volunteer at TWC, he is pleased to be able to use his outdoor ability to help out with such a worthy cause.

Linda Valenta has spent many hours volunteering all over the world - from building houses in Cambodia to participating in a medical mission in Tanzania. She is happy to be helping out locally... setting up camp and shlepping gear to help support wild animals!
